Each year I get the pleasure of attending Roxanne Esch’s grade nine French Immersion class at Fernie Secondary to hear them pitch their energy project.

The 85th Annual Association of Kootenay and Boundary Local Governments was held in Fernie this past month.

The time spent with these young people was a delightful mix of formality and friendliness that showcased how successful this program must be for the cadets.

The MOU for the policing contract has been signed and in 2018 the City will pay for five members at a cost of $782,520, an increase of about $61.53 for the average home or 17 cents a day.

The Senior‘s Center was filled to capacity on Friday, February 16, the occasion being the Volunteer Lunch organized by the City of Fernie to recognize the many individuals that do so much for the community.
