Fernie is fortunate to have strong selection of school types for discerning parents and those continuing their education.

College of The Rockies Fernie
The Fernie campus offers the incredibly popular Mountain Adventure Skills Training (MAST) program, and related outdoor tourism programs and courses. Also offerd is a number of academic and vocational programs on a rotating or short-term basis, four levels of Adult Basic Education, a range of hospitality courses, and a full calendar of continuing education courses.
The Fernie Academy
TFA follows BC Curriculum and is staffed with highly qualified teachers and instructors. Elementary (K-7) has an entirely academic morning followed each afternoon by recreational and cultural pursuits. Secondary (Gr 8-12) offers a wide range of academic and elective courses. All students enjoy a high level of daily physical activity.
Fernie Secondary School
Fernie Secondary School has a population of approximately 450 students. Fernie Secondary School, built in 1998, offers a variety of courses for grades eight through 12.
Isabella Dicken Elementary School
Kindergarten to Grade Seven. Teachers and support workers work closely with our Parent Advisory Council to provide a well-rounded program, including French Immersion, a full serviced student support program, a full extra-curricular sports program, cultural programming including crafts, music, and a Christmas Concert, etc.
L’école Sophie-Morigeau
Opened in 2013, it is the newest B.C. public francophone school and is comprised of grades kindergarten to three and is administered by School District 93, which looks after all 39 francophone schools in B.C.
