The powder snow that Fernie folk are accustomed to is finally arriving! Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Fernie – Fernie could get 15-25cm Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning.
An approaching Pacific frontal system will track inland thursday and stall across the southern interior tonight. Heavy snow will begin this evening before changing to rain at lower elevations beginning Friday morning.
At the end of the day you will have experienced and average of ten runs and anywhere up to 15,000 vertical feet of untracked powder on perfectly gladed terrain.
