As we wait for snow Fernie’s activities abound.
The ice skating has been great on Maiden Lake and the Annex Park Pond. Some are hitting the outdoor skating area to play a game of shinny while most are cruising around the pond with their little ones. I love how my kids cheeks turn rosy red in the cool winter air. Be sure to keep a close eye on potential hazards as there can be significant air holes in the ice. The more adventerous might wish to skate at Silver Springs.

Snowbiking has become popular as riders don’t want to stop peddling–the oversized tires have extra traction for snow and ice.
