Premier John Horgan announced earlier today that BC is moving into Phase 3 of its restart plan, after increasing activity without seeing a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.
City staff have developed a road-use design for 2nd Avenue that allows for these options and are seeking your feedback to help inform Council on their decision on how to move forward.
This next phase of re-opening is focused on high use and higher risk outdoor amenities and will coincide with the launch of the new Community Ambassador Program.
As part of the phased re-opening plan, Community Ambassadors will help create awareness and educate on the importance of physical distancing, and the safe use of shared spaces.
In an effort to support “staying local and avoiding unnecessary travel,” BC Parks is also implementing measures that will give B.C. residents “preferential treatment” when it comes to campsite booking this summer.
