The Fernie Alpine Resort Community Summit Fund is an initiative, started as an original five year community commitment, that has helped fund local initiatives in the Fernie community and will continue for four more years. Matt Mosteller, RCR VP Marketing & Sales, presented the revised four year $100,000 initiative to Fernie Mayor, Mary Giuliano. Giuliano commented, “The City of Fernie is pleased that RCR will continue to provide cash donations and in kind support to local community causes.”
The Fund’s mandate is to enhance the community of Fernie by supporting sustainable local projects that help create positive opportunities and outcomes for its citizens, especially youth. Between April 2007 and October 2013, the Fernie Alpine Resort Community Summit Fund has provided $150,000 in cash, as well as in-kind donations to One Hundred and Forty Five (145) community organizations and projects.
