I’d go the other way. Highway 1
usernameParticipantthe funny thing is that “hillbillies from the outback” is refering to Australia as a whole. Not a place specific in Australia but Australia’s place in the rest of the world. After all , didn’t you guys just get cable 4 or 5 years ago?
usernameParticipantdon’t worry…there’s no such thing as stupid questions. There will be at least 2 feet of snow on the skate park. But hopefully more like 3 or 4 feet!
usernameParticipantIf by lift company you mean Fernie Alpine Resort. And if you mean a job as a lifty. And if by midway you mean like Febuary. Then the chances of becoming a lifty midway are good. The turn over rate for lifties last year was over 55%. Most get fired but a few quit or get promoted. So in about Febuary they are usually looking for people but they usually call the people that applied but didn’t get the job in December. You know …their “second choice” It wouldn’t hurt to put the buzz in the Lift Supervisors ear now.
usernameParticipantThe snow making upgrades will not improve the ski hill but will generate numbers for the office in Calgary. All the snow guns will now all be connected to one main computer. This computer does not control the snow gun but gathers information from it. Things like water used ,air temps, water temps, hours on/off, water pressure, etc etc etc. The other new improvement is a steel bridge where Giggly’s Guly meets Deer Trail. On that sharp left corner. Also the Boomerang Chair gets a new Haul Rope. So any threats of reduced capacity there are over. Oh and you’ll like this…. Weather tower at the top of Polar Peak. And a major..major upgrade to the Daylodge. You won’t reconize it. Big deck and all the works.
usernameParticipantMost of the improvements last year and this year will not be noticed by the general public. Things like major snow making upgrades and upgrades in the retail shop. There is one new run in Curry Bowl close to the 123’s .And oh ya they cut down all those little cedars at the very bottom by the bus pickup! And are in the process of covering the creek running beside the old shop and putting in a culvert. Now thats progress.
usernameParticipanti’ve seen snow several times already and recenty had some snow falling on top of my head. Look up … Way up…
usernameParticipantI have always got the best deals in Vancouver or even Calgary or Lethbridge. The thing is if you buy it in Alberta it saves you 7% right away because of the tax you don’t pay there. The big stores in the city order huge amounts of snowboards and the companies give them deals. The more they buy the better the deal. They are able to pass these savings on to you. You’ll need at least 160 cm . And the Fatties are the best.
usernameParticipantczar from afar: Never assume anything.
usernameParticipantto you to ewww!!
usernameParticipantewww!!!
usernameParticipantBootleg Glades……….And there be some improvement on Mitchy Chutes…..and towards Disease Trees,,,….,,, Oh ya and how can u forget Morning Glory…just make sure you get it in the “morning”
