Any question of the Winter Olympics relevance to skiing as a competitive sport can be put to rest with today’s choice of Beijing for the 2022 iteration.
The skiing venue receives less than 40cm a year in precipitation, primarily in the summer. As the committee stated, the event will be held on artificial snow.
Duh.
With an artificial venue, does the event as a whole become artificial? A complete fake?
In a world where The Donald joins the GOP race for President, leads in the polls and is half taken seriously, this must be the next logical next step.
