Do you need snow to run one of those. Cause if you do….. There is no snow out that way at all…. If you think Fernie has no snow….you should check out there….not a flake … I hear the ski dooing in Revelstroke is good..that might equal good kitting…..but it’s usually Big Steep Mountain terrain…not open fields..

U have way, way, way, way, more of a chance of dying in a car crash driving to Fernie, than getting eaten by a couger while jogging in Fernie.

As far as the flyfishing goes…….no, trout fishing is closed….you’re not even suppose to target them. But this is the season for whitefish. You’re allowed 15. Although i can’t see the fishing being good for at least a month with all the rain we just had. Oh ya, and don’t fish bellow the ski hill because they were just shooting raw sewage into the river. So was the city of Fernie……ewww…

I’m not sure about the need for another clinic….but I do know that the dog population in Fernie is gigantic. There is at least 4 dogs per block here in Fernie. There are also plenty of cows and horses.I personally don’t take my 2 dogs to the clinic in Fernie but instead prefer the all female Dr’s in Cranbrook.

When you buy property you can never (well almost never) lose. The only boat that you might miss if you don’t buy soon is the LOW INTEREST RATES. Thats one of the reasons I was able to afford a home in Fernie. The low interest rates. Several of the property for sale in Elko and Lake Koocanusa is right in a Migratory route for Elk and other animals, so I would never buy there. If you want your presence in B.C. to be subtle, consider it. Look at all the new property going in everywhere. Fairy Creek, down Kakato, Golf Course, Alpine Living Group, out towards the tunnel, South Country. I hear “If it was up to me, there would be more rules for hunting” Remember, loss of habitat is the animals number one destuctive force.

Well for me, personally, if I don’t like a service or agree with how they’re running it, I stop going there. I think no matter what RCR does, you won’t be happy. You have this pre-disposition to be angry with the resort. It’s the old “glass is half emty or the glass is half full” idea. I hear “Half the mountains closed” but I would be saying. ” At least half the mountains open” And it’s kind of funny that the part of the mountain that was closed that first week was horrible. Almost unskiable. What did you want? To go ski the Deer? Or Mighty Moose? THERE WAS NO SNOW. I admit that charging full price wasn’t the best but people have a choice. Buy a ticket or don’t. And if you have a season pass be glad that we’re even skiing. They have to be open by Dec.20. Opening before that date is more just advertising. “HEY WE”RE OPEN” And anyways it’s going to rain for 7 days and 7 nights, the entire mountain will be shut down and you will be eating your seasons pass.

I know how you feel but in the last 5 years…. we got White Pass…Timber Chair…..wich doubled the skiable terrian…. The Bear Chair….. New terrain park…… I’m sure it will slow down for a couple years in Fernie but other RCR groups get it instead…. Lake Louise ( new gondola)……Kimberly (highspeed)….. I predict a Highspeed Chair in Cedar Bowl with in 3 years…. And also predict the Elk Chair turned into a highspeed in the same time period. Those arn’t bad expansions are they?

I know exactly what you guys are saying, and agree with everything that your saying. But there is two sides to every story so let me just say this….
The last Monday of every month, season passs holders get early chair (first tracks) on the Elk and Bear. You will be able to load at 8:30am I think. Thats a bonus for pass holders. And this “Service With No Boundries” is a program designed to give the lifties, ticket checkers, snow shovelers the power to give away things to angry customers. Like luches, new poles, day passes, what ever that person thinks you deserve.Any plane old lifty or ticket checker has the power to do that. So I feel they’re making steps in the right direction towards guest services.
