So I went skiing today. Crunchy snow, hard underneath. Soft patches in places where folks missed. Ego snow. Roll the knee, ride the edge and step onto the other ski. Ride it through. Broken clouds with enough blue sky. No wind.
They opened Snake, but I was not in a bushwhacking mood. I simply skied laps and enjoyed the day. Didn’t push it.
Turn left.
Turn right
And repeat.
We’re open. And a lot of the hill is open. The spots remaining closed are closed more because of the 10 alders than the snow conditions. There is lots of snow. There are years that on the 15th of December we are still looking for the first metre of snow. ‘
So that’s it, and now for the The Good, The Bad, and the Lucky…
The Good. We’re skiing and it’s good.
The Bad. The alders had a great summer. But so did we, so let’s not complain.
And the Lucky. It’s a new day. It’s a new season and we’re in Fernie turning left and turning right.
It’s all good!
