Bhaktimarga Swami, a disciple of A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, is a monk with an awe-inspiring mission. In 1996 he completed his first walk across the entire length of Canada. Here he is now working on completing his fourth trek across the country, following two others in 2003 and 2007. The most recent journey began in 2012 which he will complete this spring.
This weekend, the journey led Swami through Fernie BC. Through his daily blog, he provides us with insight into his quest. His second night in the area, he stayed at a friend’s under a clear, star-lit sky. His host told him stories of the many animal visitors to the area such as deer, elk, cougars and bears. He also described his journey alongside the Elk River, claiming it to be a therapeutic means for meditation. Here, he took a large portion of video footage for an upcoming documentary of his journey.
