Fernie Alpine Resort Bonus Weekends will extend the summer mountain season for two more weekends in September, just as the resort launches its Fall Winter Season Pass Sale.
Fernie Alpine Resort will operate both the Elk Chair and Timber Express on September 12–13 and September 19–20, with lifts running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For mountain bikers, hikers and sightseers, the bonus weekends offer four more days of lift-accessed mountain time after FAR’s regular daily summer operations wrap up on September 7.
There is also a little history attached to these final weekends: FAR says they will be the last opportunity for summer laps on the current Elk Chair until 2028, when the new Elk Express is expected to be operating.

Both bonus weekends will have the Elk and Timber chairs operating Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lost Boys Café will also be open, with more Music on the Mountain planned.
On September 12, Clayton Parsons performs at Lost Boys Café from noon to 3 p.m.
On September 19, Alex McKay, aka Environ, takes over for an afternoon DJ session from noon to 3 p.m.
It’s a good excuse to squeeze a few more bike laps, hikes and chairlift rides out of September before attention turns fully to snow.
2026/27 Winter Season Pass Sale
And winter is already on sale.
Fernie Alpine Resort’s 2026/27 Season Pass Sale runs until October 16, offering substantial savings from the resort’s listed regular prices.
An Adult Season Pass is $1,999, a saving of $600 from the listed $2,599 regular price.
