The RDEK Board of Directors has unanimously passed a resolution calling on the Provincial Health Officer to introduce stronger measures and provide additional clarity around travel between communities in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is not just about protecting ourselves and our communities, it’s about protecting our health care system so it is available for those who need it most,” says RDEK Board Chair Rob Gay.
The RDEK is scheduled to open a Recycle BC Depot at the Cranbrook Transfer Station next month and at the Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford Transfer Stations in early 2020.
The notification system will only be used for evacuation alerts or orders and has been implemented as an additional tool to help us get the word out as quickly as possible to affected areas when time is of the essence
