Everyone is very pleased with the resorts announcement for the upload/download status and Polar Peak opening. Currie Bowl has great coverage down to Trespass Trail back to White Pass Chair. Here is a FAR video produced earlier this November:

The opening was in question because of the absence of snow at lower elevations however, skiing on the top half of the resort has been excellent. Estimates put the snowpack close to two metres in some places. But that quickly drops to less than a meter in the subalpine and barely 10cm on the lower mountain. Temperatures haven’t even come close to being able to make snow yet. We have yet to have much of any snow or cold temperatures in town–the biking has been excellent.

This weeks forecast is for some cooler temperatures that could allow for some snowmaking, but not much in the way of any new snow. More significant precipitation looks to be on tap for the coming weekend with cooler (but not that cold) temperatures continuing which should allow for some more snowmaking and increased terrain openings following the opening weekend.
