1. Avalanche City Roller Girls Home Game

The girls return for another home game of endless action at the Fernie Arena. This week they face off against the Missfits of Mayhem from central Alberta. The game starts at 7 with refreshments available on site. See you there!

2. FWoW Ride & Work Party

This Wednesday offers an opportunity to give back and contribute to the conditions of Fernie’s trail networks. Join the Fernie Mountain Bike Club for the ride and work party, which will begin with a ride up Ridgemont to work on the Queen V trail. Work will mostly consist of removing smaller roots that still remain. The day will end with a ride down sidewinder.

3. Summer Socials

This weeks’ events offer live music supplied by extraordinary talent. Wednesday combines the sounds of Vancouver band High Society with some classic eats; $10 sloppy joes with potato salad, chips and a drink, all proceeds go towards the Arts Station. Sunday is the summer music jam with open mic performances by Michelle Power, Nicole Yates, Linden Gigliotti, Landon Schira and more.

4. Summer Camp Sign-up

Numerous kids’ camps are taking place in the next couple weeks, don’t miss out on signing up! Next week, Fernie Alpine Resort is hosting its 3-day camp which features various activities on the hill, perfect for ages 8 – 12. The Aquatic Centre also has weekly 5-day camps that offer swim lessons, outdoor activities, crafts, games and supervised pool play time. Don’t miss the PJ party the Aquatic Center on Friday, starting at 5:30pm, for ages 7+.

Summer Camp

5. Disc Golf

Once the evenings have cooled off, try your hand at disc golf at the Lizard Range Course by the airport. Play at your own pace up to 9 or 18 holes. Discs can be purchased at various retailers in town at around $15 per disc. Ensure to wear bug spray!
