Join the Fernie Museum to hear guest speaker Carin Hernskog, Bronze medal freestyle aerialist at the 1988 Calgary Olympic Winter Games.
Carin will relate her story of conquering fear and working hard through set backs to win her Olympic medal.
Carin learned how to ski at two years old in Sweden and she started to compete in gymnastics at the age five. The two sports are a perfect combination to be a mogul skier but moguls skiing didn’t allowed inverted aerials at the time. And once she started launching she was hooked.
Carin lives in Calgary with her husband Christian and she has three older boys. She is a great supporter of sport and the Olympic spirit!
This presentation is part the Fernie Museum’s celebration of the Olympic Spirit; Canada’s Sports Heroes exhibit now on display in the Museum Gallery. The event is being co-hosted with the FAST Alumni. The evening starts at 7 pm. Refreshments and snack will be available.
Please RSVP your attendance to programs@ferniemuseum.com
