The Fernie Candidate Information Night is for residents considering running for Mayor or Council in the 2026 General Local Election.

Prospective candidates can learn more about the election process, nomination requirements, and what it means to serve on Fernie City Council. The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions before the nomination period opens.

The nomination period begins September 1 at 9:00 a.m. Candidates can pick up a nomination package at City Hall or download one from fernie.ca/election.

The City recommends that candidates book a meeting with the Chief Election Officer to review their nomination package. Appointments can be arranged by emailing electionsofficer@fernie.ca or calling 250-946-7138.
