 ring running for Mayor or Council in the 2026 General Local Election.\n\nP
 rospective candidates can learn more about the election process\, nominati
 on requirements\, and what it means to serve on Fernie City Council. The s
 ession will also provide an opportunity to ask questions before the nomina
 tion period opens.\n\nThe nomination period begins September 1 at 9:00 a.m
 . Candidates can pick up a nomination package at City Hall or download one
  from fernie.ca/election.\n\nThe City recommends that candidates book a me
 eting with the Chief Election Officer to review their nomination package. 
 Appointments can be arranged by emailing electionsofficer@fernie.ca or cal
