In Fernie BC Rivers Day celebrates the Elk River and its tributaries that shape our community, our recreation and our environment.

The 46th annual BC Rivers Day theme is “Everyone can be a river steward,” encouraging people to think about the role rivers play in their lives and how they can help protect them.

Celebrate by joining a community activity, spending time along the Elk River or taking on your own river stewardship project. Picking up litter, protecting riverbanks, learning about local waterways and sharing responsible river practices all make a difference.

Every action counts when it comes to keeping our rivers healthy for future generations.
