The Annual Turkey Trot Run returns for its 9th year, bringing the Fernie community together for a free Thanksgiving weekend fun run hosted by the Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club.
Whether you’re a competitive runner, casual jogger, or simply looking to enjoy Fernie’s fall trails, everyone is welcome to participate. Choose your route, set your own pace, and enjoy a chance to win a Thanksgiving turkey!
The event takes place on the Montane trails, with two marked routes:
Long loop: Approximately 11 km
Short loop: Approximately 5 km
There is no mass start. Start anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.Begin whenever you like during event hours, and volunteers will record your name and start and finish times.
Dogs are welcome but must be leashed or under control.
Turkeys will be awarded in the following categories:
Fastest long-loop male and female
Fastest short-loop male and female
Fastest teen male and female
Fastest overall
Best dressed
Lucky door prize
Support Local Swimmers
Participation is completely free! Optional donations are welcome, with all contributions going directly to the Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club to support local swimmers.
