There is daycare available, you just have to look. Tina (above) and myself are both advertising space available, and both for a very fair rate. There are definately spots around.
supermomParticipantI agree.
There are sometimes problems with locals vs non locals, but there are also problems with locals vs locals and tourist vs tourist.
This is the best town I have ever lived in and I laid down roots, bought a house and had kids here because there’ s no where else I’d raise my children. I know you’ll enjoy it.supermomParticipantAny luck finding any missing cats?
supermomParticipantNo, the one in the paper is mine. I did stop by and see the above cat but he was not the right one. He was gorgeous and his finder and him seem to have made a connection.
Keep your eyes out still though, we still have hope for the siamese we lost!
supermomParticipantMan, there are alot of missing cats. This happens every August. I too am missing a cat. He’s a siamese and missing from west Fernie. I will keep my eyes open for Milo, and I’m so sorry.
supermomParticipantMy 7 year old daughter’s bike was stolen from my front yard as well. It was not a nice bike, not new by any means but she liked it. Some drunk yahoos must have enjoyed the ride, I imagine it’s in the river or somewhere like that.
Now she is without a bike and can’t ride to school.supermomParticipant"wildsight" wrote:You gotta be kidding, “safe”? Safe for a 5 year old is soccer, the playground, the pool, a bicycle, etc…Educate yourself Monster73 and be responsible. Children under the age of 14 are at great risk on motorized recreation vehicles. Especially quads.
You will meet other motor-heads that share your irresponsible child development philosophies. The sooner you move to Sparwood the better, in the short term – stay off our Fernie hiking and biking trails!
I think my 7 year old and I will go for a ride up the hiking and biking trails today on our motorbikes. Wildsight, want to run behind and choke on our exhaust???
supermomParticipantI have something to add to this. I would most certainly be careful what you say about people, you never know when you will need them!
I am one of those people who will only take their pet to Steeples. I was seeing Dr. Skoberg for years, but now she comes to me. However, two weeks ago, my cat was hit by a car right in front of me. The first thing I did was to call Dr. Haart. I did not want to be driving an hour with a cat who might not make it! Times like these I am certainly glad to have a local vet who is only 1 minute away and not an hour. When you slander a person though they may not help you in times of emergencies. Dr. Haart assured me my cat was stable and we started the long term care. Thankfully he was there that day. I can’t imagine the panic of trying to drive and an hour while worrying about my baby. Might be something to think about! -
