We have 2 options. Cindy or Dan. If I could pick anybody at all it wouldn’t be either of them. So feel free to let us all know why we should vote Cindy over Dan.
gavitronParticipantI’m not really sure if you’re being serious or not. I’m guessing not. Either way, please go on. I sense an interesting story behind all of this.
gavitronParticipantAs for the concern about "JDubs" and the network consisting of many, I can’t help but feel we could all learn a thing or two from them. I know some of them personally and can say they are motivated, ambitious people who want what is best for themselves, their families and their friends. I fail to see the problem with that. I do the same thing except I do it because I’m selfish and they do it for what they believe will make this world a better place. If it really bothers you, skip the complaining and get yourself in the game.
gavitronParticipantThe lot rent is $225/mth. There are no other fees.
gavitronParticipantSounds like this wasn’t the job for you. I am sure we have all experienced that at some point or another.
I have never known any businesses that didn’t choose who moved up or who needed to be replaced. Maybe you were a great worker, maybe you did your best. Maybe someone else was better. Welcome to life.gavitronParticipantThe project has been completed. Thank you for all the interest.
gavitronParticipantFernie Mow n Snow :
gavitronParticipantDepending on your chimney style, I can most likely do this for you.
Gavin @ 423-8797 or message me.
gavitronParticipant“Get real. Its cleaning.”
If that statement makes the job bottom of the barrel, I don’t see much room for a high-paying expectation.
Higher pay? “Get real. Its cleaning.”
The only other thing I can think to add is that if business owners spend all their income on wages there won’t be much left for them. And if they aren’t making anything, they will take their business elsewhere. Eliminating jobs all together.
People don’t come here to make a lot of cash, they come here to enjoy the surroundings. If making a big wage is a top priority head east a few hundred kilometers. On second thought, I know of entry level jobs paying $60,000 a year right here in the valley. I’m yet to hear a reason why people aren’t taking them. They probably don’t pay enough. That and you only get to ski 1 out of every 2 days.
As for SG and Rudy, I’m standing with them on their opinion. Cuff me and take me to the station.
Frank, $8 an hour IS a good wage. Its cleaning.gavitronParticipantI can’t say forsure, but my thoughts are that this has little to do with the companies profit and more to do with them trying to protect themselves from hiring people with little or no work ethic. I do agree that transients help fill the gaps during the busy season and I have a lot of respect for the ones that start working as soon as they get here, tell the employer the truth about how long they will be here and, in return for the opportunity, stick with the job. Unfortunately there are those who do the exact opposite. This may be why businesses are starting to try ways to avoid this. Laws can be great, but sometimes they can clash with reality.
gavitronParticipantGoldstar is a great company to work for. I know plenty of people that have worked with them and still do. I hear nothing but fun stories from their team and no complaints about pay. They present and maintain a very positive attitude and do a great job.
db,
As for any policies they may have to gain employment with them it is for good reason. Obviously they too have had experiences with the “hit and run” employees (you being one of them) one too many times. Any job takes at least a month to become great at. To fall in to routine and to work efficiently and affectively. Why do you think you deserve money for wasting these hardworking peoples time? If you ask me, you owe them an apology and they owe you nothing.gavitronParticipantOne would have to grow up in old school Fernie to understand all this. Yea, it was “redneck”. Getting in fights is a defining part of some peoples lives. Among these people fighting isn’t really viewed as a big deal. You either win or lose, and depending on that outcome you either get to do as you please or shut your mouth. So when people show up from other cultures they get freaked out. Perhaps they were tricked in to thinking they were coming to a resort town. Sorry, you were misled. Fernie may be in a transition, but ATM its still very much a coalmining, sawmill, logging, riding horses and hunting kind of place. The only advice I could offer is if you don’t want to run the risk, don’t drink with these people. And don’t waste your time trying to convince them you’re a local.
I am however starting to believe we’ve “out-rednecked” ourselves. And it all started the day some young MoFo told me not to park where I did and to respect the locals or get out of his f*ckin town.gavitronParticipanthow many km’s are on the rebuild?
gavitronParticipantTry Chris at 423-2646
