flyingeckoParticipant
Thanks, well hopefully we can just go for sushi.
I knew about Sawai Thai as my husband used to be the chef there, whole place is getting torn down. Too bad.
flyingeckoParticipantActually Island Lake Lodge is closed in off season
Tried to book our reception there for May and they are closed so it depends on when her wedding is.
by the golf course is nice too, awesome mountain views.
flyingeckoParticipantThere is a softball league but I haven’t a clue who to get in touch with for it.. sorry
flyingeckoParticipantYou are from Ontario aren’t you?
If you are coming into town and can look in a city I would highly recommend it. The pawn shp here sucks, best time to get used skis is the ski swap and thats long over. So unless you can find someone selling the right sizes, I would say to look elsewhere
flyingeckoParticipantIt’s funny that you “explain” something that I have seen many times to be untrue. Saturday morning – Breakfast club, after the parades of middle aged + men and women and the odd 20 year old (no names mentioned) /i saw tons of juniors out. If you feel you get treated elsewhere then go elsewhere. Thats what golfers do is it not?
And I don’t want to hear your crap on how I got my job, my mommy and daddy dont get me jobs, otherwise I would have worked elsewhere and made a whole lot more $$$.
And for the record you can go out on Mens/ladies/juniors night assuming there is an opening
By the way, get your own damn sandwich
flyingeckoParticipantI honestly don’t know wha crawled up your ass but booking off time for juniors is the same as booking it off for Ladies day, Mens night and for the seniors. They can play whenever they want just like everyone else and they can get together with other juniors at a time that is reserved especially for them. So if you think that is wrong do you think they should get rid of men’s night?
I also may not golf but I have the right to comment and have an opinion. And yes the things I know about their finances are probably known by a lot of people on the exec., lets keep in mind that I did work there.
So honestly, what IS your problem?
You make a name just to bitch about the golf course and you don’t even live in Fernie? Still haven’t said who you are, obviously I would know if you said. And if you have such a problem with Albertans coming to golf.. clearly you are a true local of fernie, does the ski hill bother you too?
flyingeckoParticipantI do not do their finances, I do not golf.. I have worked there, I know a lot of members aged 6-60. My parents are big with the course so I happen to know some things that arent public knowledge and don’t need to become public knowledge. Maybe I do know who you are but that doesn’t excuse the fact that you are to cowardly to even sign your name to something you clearly feel so strongly about.
As for juniors, I too was taught the game at a very young age, in a town that didn’t have the population to support programs yet somehow my parents managed with us. I know lots of people whos kids go out on Thursday evenings when time is booked off for juniors and I know that certain pro’s offer deals on lessons.
flyingeckoParticipantThe thing I find sadest about your post is that you don’t have the guts to post your name and clearly you don’t really know about their finances because you are completely off base.
Erica
flyingeckoParticipantLOL!
I don’t work at the pub.. I may have in a past life..
I know a few people who play on Jam night there and I’m kinda anti-royal for my own personal reasons that we need not get into. So haven’t a clue what their deal is
And Smitty’s.. Hmm totally pancakes not much good for anything but breaky. But hey, good for the morning after cure
flyingeckoParticipantJust a correction, The Thursday Jam night is at the Pub
flyingeckoParticipantWell said!
Hope everyone has a great time tonight at the rave..
flyingeckoParticipantJust in reply to the Pincher Q.. It’s definately not something to write home about. Thats about all I can say about that
But Castle is supposed to be good..
flyingeckoParticipantTo many of you I’d be considered local, but then again to some locals I wouldn’t be. I grew up there, went to highschool there, hell I lived there for HALF of my life.
Fernie is very much a tradition oriented place, anyone who has graduated there would know this. Everything is typically the same from year to year, yea even the same as it was in the 80’s. It’s a matter of respect for one thing to keep up on traditions.
Fernie wasn’t always what it is today and yea, some of the locals need to realize that change happens. I moved from Fernie this summer because I was tired of throwing my money into someone else’s mortgage and getting screwed by local employers hiring anything but locals.
Anyway, this is besides the point. All power to you marko and whoever else it is throwing this party, sounds like it’ll be a blast. But the point has been made, it is NOT the mogul smoker. Everyone wonders why locals hate RCR and people like you so much? There is no respect for the age old traditions. Could have just thrown a party and come up with a name for it, but obviously that wouldn’t have generated the hype that has come with killing the age old tradition.
For all that go, have a great time.. But remember, it’s just a party.. not the Mogul Smoker.
Erica
flyingeckoParticipantMy plan for the year is to ski at Castle Mountian Mid Week Pass going for under 300 http://www.castlemountainresort.com/tickets.html
Also I ll be making day trips to kicking horse and other non RCR hills
flyingeckoParticipantIn another word, Sparwood. Sparwood has a court in their community center but Fernie does not.
