ferniefrostyParticipantIs dog excrement harmless….hmmm well that depends.
I am always surprised at the number of dogs roaming the neighbourhood and depositing their waste indiscriminately. I thought having a dog was about getting outdoors for healthy exercise and being with mans best friend. Luckily the roaming dogs I have come across have been friendly, however, I’m always a bit hesitant when unfamiliar dogs approach me and my two year old twins and there is no owner anywhere to control the dog.
I must also mention an incident last Summer when I was towing my charriot with my then 18 month old babies. Unbeknown to me a large, rancid dog poo had flicked up off my back wheel and landed on my babies covering them and their drink bottles in excrement. Their screams and my retching as I tried to clean it off them with baby wipes was something I’d wish to forget. So harmless, nope! There isno excuse for dog poo on walkways or paths, just hoof it outa the way if you can’t pick it up. Get your own dogs poo on your own shoes and then see how much fun and harmless it is!!ferniefrostyParticipantHi,

ferniefrostyParticipantHi Clare,
When you find your Chariot I have an infant sling for sale which fits any Chariot and is ideal for a newborn. It was hardly used as we bought the Chariot and went back to the UK without it. Retails new for $75. I’m offering it for sale for $50.
Let me know if you’re interested, thanksAnne-Marie
ferniefrostyParticipantHave just caught up reading posts since my last comment. I was over charged by almost 80 bucks on a visit to Extra Foods and didn’t notice until I checked my bill at home. Having to bag all your groceries with no help means you can’t keep an eye on what’s being rung up on the till, also there are usually queues building up (due to the lack of till staff) so you want to press the silly conveyor button, bag up quickly and get going. I went back, obviously, and they didn’t even know what I had been charged for!! Apparently bar codes can be misread and the codes are set up by their Head Office. They were however very good in refunding the amount, but I did have to waste my time returning there and convincing them that I didn’t purchase two ‘Fairy makers’ at 39.99 each.
I (along with many others I suspect) do the double shop and buy fresh produce at Overwaitea and other stuff at Extra Foods. It’s easier to compare prices between brands at Extra Foods as they post the price per 100 grams or item. The comment about ski town prices makes me laugh. Not everyone in town is into the ski thing and just want to be able to afford groceries!November 23, 2009 at 8:09 pm in reply to: *RENTED* ONE BEDROOM GROUND FLOOR SUITE IN MOUNTVIEW #17574ferniefrostyParticipantSuite still available……….
ferniefrostyParticipantHi, saw your posting and thought I would point out our ad on this site. We have a one bedroom fully equipped suite in the ground floor of our house in a great part of Fernie. Take a look at our ad and let me know if you’d like to me to send you pictures.
Cheers

ferniefrostyParticipantAll the previous posts are also what I’ve experienced plus:
Having to go to the only till open (12 items or less) with my cart load of shopping, unloading it and then being told to move to a normal till that they decided to open. I said no!
No quality control on ‘fresh’ produce
Stupid shopping carts that have no safety strap to hold your little ones in and are as easy to steer as a moose!
Staff whose attitude to customer service is questionable-it’s almost like they don’t care if you shop there or not.I think the main issue is there is little competition in Fernie for grocery shopping and Extra Foods don’t pay their staff enough for them to feel valued and develop any loyalty to the brand. They are trying to recruit at the moment…..
Anyway enough said by me
