Just wish I could have gotten a better picture but they didn’t seem too friendly and I wasn’t getting any closer! Maybe the bylaw officer will stumble onto this website.
cs86ParticipantPrice reduced
cs86ParticipantSteve, don’t make him cry, or this one will get shut down too.
cs86ParticipantOh and I know Walter at Fernie Home Building Centre used to do lock re-keying, if you bring them into the store. Not sure if he still does or not, but you could ask. 250-423-4694.
cs86ParticipantGlen Beaver moved to Alberta about 7 or more years ago…. don’t know what your source of info is Rudy-Admin
cs86ParticipantNo offense, as I’m sure you want feedback, but it seems really expensive. I might be interested if the prices were more reasonable.
cs86Participantcs86ParticipantI wouldn’t necessarily say that AWD is a must. FWD vehicles get up there just fine, and even most RWD vehicles. However, GOOD SNOW tires are a MUST. NOT all-seasons, but the real-deal snow tires, ie: Blizzaks. And if you’re interested, and it might even end up being cheaper, Fernie has a ski shuttle which stops at numerous locations throughout town and takes you right to the ski hill, as close as you can get. There is a nominal fee per-ride, but you can also purchase a pack of tickets for a lower price, or a season’s pass for the whole ski season. It is very convenient and saves you parking, gas, etc. Pick-up and Drop-off is usually hourly or every half hour, depending on the time of the season, and is right next to the timber chair, which is very convenient. The shuttle runs throughout the ski season. For more information you can contact Earl at Smokey Mountain Charters, 1-250-423-8605 or smokeytravel@yahoo.com
Definitely check out the rental offers on this forum for your housing. Living downtown is great for the nightlife (if you’re in to that) but if you will have a vehicle and don’t plan to be at the bars/restaurants downtown every night, there are other great areas of town to live in. The annex is fairly central but will be quieter than living downtown. Ridgemont and the Airport are also more quieter residential areas but will be a little bit further from downtown. Although, being Fernie, nothing is really out of walking distance.
Good Luck.
cs86ParticipantLearn how to read, it doesn’t say fireWOOD. While you’re at it, learn how to spell, too. And quit being an a-hole. Maybe you should quit being a doorknob on the internet and take some reading/writing classes at the college.
cs86ParticipantI agree mikes…again.

cs86Participanthow many km? cloth seats? how many people does it seat? What size engine?
cs86ParticipantI’m with you on this, and I have frequently complained on the ourfernie website about this issue, to no avail. There is a bylaw in Fernie that dogs MUST be kept on a leash, which is rarely adhered to, and as well, you MUST pick up after your dog, which is equally disregarded. I feel that these two issues go hand-in-hand. I have seen people take their dogs out without a leash and the dogs are either 30 ft ahead of the owner, doing their own thing, or trailing 30 ft behind. How are you keeping an eye on your dog’s business if you can’t even see where they are? I have watched out my window as a dog walks into my yard, takes a crap, and then walks away. About a minute or two later, his owner comes walking down the street completely unaware (or so it seems) that his dog just dumped in my yard. I think that the bylaws need to be enforced a lot better than they are now. I have never once seen the bylaw officer while I’m taking my dogs for walks. So who, then, is supposed to be reinforcing the leash and poop laws? To take matters into my own hands, when I see a dog take a dump and the owner doesn’t pick it up, I outright ask them, "Are you going to pick that up?". The usual response is "I don’t have a bag", which is a poor excuse. How hard is it to take a fricken plastic bag in your pocket when you leave the house? They sell these dog-bag dispensers now that are quite compact and you can clip them on your dog’s leash (provided you actually use a leash). I usually lend them a bag if I have one, or I tell them they should clean it up anyways. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t, but I hope that by asking them, they are at least embarassed or maybe it will clue them in that they SHOULD be cleaning upafter their dog. Anyway, that is my rant, feel free to correct me if you feel my opinions are wrong.
cs86ParticipantTragically, someone fell from the roof of the northern and was killed. Not sure of the details but that was what happened.
cs86ParticipantWell said Mikes…
