Shad, do not speculate why the CAO was let go. It will be in the paper soon enough. Also Shad, it is not evil to promote industry in a city or town. Many people depend on industry to support their families. Healthy communities need people and jobs. We are children of God, not a bunch of leaches attacking the planet, as some misguided groups would have you believe. Be not afraid! Apocalypse not!
arleneParticipantYour’re right Mike. We need to be thankful for all men of good will. And we need to believe that there is a little good in everyone, even those who hate others. I am glad for the ski hill expansion, it is good news for the community.
arleneParticipantI am sick and tired of all this hated and venom levelled against Albertans, Brits, Austalians, Quebecer’s etc. And I am also sick and tired of all the hatred and venom directed against anyone who is trying to make Fernie a better place. If all the complainers and whiners cleaned up their various drug and alcohol addictions, they’d have money to buy a condo too. Grow up and stop being jealous and blaming others for your troubles. Fernie would just be another crappy ghost town if it weren’t for people of good will trying to make it work.
arleneParticipantTo anyone who thinks animals can make moral decisions is confused.Animals do not have free will. Humans have a free will to choose good or bad. This free will is a gift from God. You can choose to use this gift of free will for good. Or you can choose to use this gift of free will to do bad. That is what morality is. If you don’t choose to believe that you are a child of God with dignity, that is your choice. I am sorry you don’t think better of yourself. Humans are not animals. That is the truth. Believe what you will.
arleneParticipantThe moose was put down without pain by the wildlife authorities who were doing their job. Why do some people hate their fellow human beings so much that they would rather see an inocent person hurt rather than a moose put down?. Moose are not on the same level as human beings. They are meat to eat.Moose are animals. Man is not an animal. Man is a child of God.It is suprising in this day and age how anyone could be so confused as to be upset over a simple wildlife management situation.
arleneParticipantInvestments in the future are hope. Hope that we can live in a world free of bitterness and prejudice. Joy does not come from the vehicle we drive, or the shoes we wear. Prejudice and stereotypes are a poison. Insulting comments about any other group drag our community down. I repeat, those who have invested in Fernie would like to see a bright future for ourselves and our children. The investment is the heart.

Prejudice is brutally ugly. Those of us who have invested in Fernie want a future full of hope for ouselves and our families. Nasty namecalling does not fit in with this vision. All are welcome here. There is no place for the cancer of negativity in our Fernie. Prejudice is neither cute nor even attractive. Enjoy our beautiful moutains in peace and joy. -
