It’s that time of year again—Griz time! As we prepare for another epic winter, the team at Fernie Alpine Resort is hard at work gearing up for the season. Get your snow dance on and send your best wishes to the Griz! Winter is just around the corner, and there’s plenty to look forward to this season. Here’s what’s new and exciting:
On-Mountain Brushing Program
The brushing team has been hard at work since May and will continue prepping the mountain through the fall. Our trusty mower cat will be back out to groom the runs, ensuring great early-season coverage and access to all your favorite spots. Additionally, heavy machinery will be tackling earthwork and terrain modifications to improve flow and enhance the on-mountain experience.
Grooming Fleet Additions
Fernie’s grooming fleet is getting an upgrade with two of Prinoth’s latest machines, designed to meet the stringent European “Stage V” emission standards. We’re adding one free cat and one winch cat to the team. These top-of-the-line machines are the most efficient in their class—let’s see what Gary the Cat thinks about his new high-tech buddies!
Snowmaking Upgrades
Three new lance guns have been added to the snowmaking arsenal. These energy-efficient guns will maximize snow production during optimal weather conditions, ensuring the best possible snow coverage for your winter adventures.
