The TransRockies Race Series just announced the return of the TransRockies Classic Mountain Bike Stage Race, from Panorama Mountain Resort to Fernie, British Columbia from July 22-28, 2019. Once again, Fernie is proud be the finish stage in this legendary bike race!

Fernie was the only community to host all 12 TransRockies Classic races from 2002 to 2014. The event put Fernie on the map as bike destination and influenced the present status of being a healthy biking community. The Fernie TransRockies Society, established in 2002, will be working with the TransRockies Race Series in hosting a spectacular Fernie finish.

One hundred and fifty teams of two (300 riders) from all over the world will participate in the seven-day race through the Rockies, staying overnight at remote tent camps and making two crossings of the continental divide. The event will be perhaps the toughest mountain bike stage race in North America, and one of the major stage races in the world.

TransRockies Classic offers a focus on community and camaraderie, as 300 riders along with crew, friends and family come together on this shared mountain biking pilgrimage to make it to the finish line in Fernie.
