1. Feel Good Fernie Yoga and Wellness Festival
Join in the Guinness World Record Yoga Attempt this weekend at Fernie’s second annual Yoga Festival. The event is great for all abilities with no experience necessary. Take part in the many workshops throughout the day or let loose at the yoga party Saturday night featuring local food, fire spinning, live music and dancing. Continue to get your yoga on at Fernie Alpine Resort on Sunday for their Walking Yoga session in the scenic alpine terrain.

2. River Relaxing
Cool down from the Fernie summer heat on the scenic Elk River. Take an inner tube or air mattress down for a float, or sign up for a guided float through one of the whitewater rafting companies in town. Bike trails along side are perfect for a casual stroll or for a day of relaxing in the shade. The river is also now open for fishing.

3. Kid’s Activities
This week offers several events for kids of all ages. The Fernie Heritage Library is hosting a kids concert featuring popular entertainer Mr. Mojo on Thursday. The first “Howl at the Moon Campout” series begins at Fernie Alpine Resort, a slumber party at Lost Boys Café complete with Saturday dinner, smores and snacks, Sunday breakfast and special campout programming. Kids can also join in the yoga festival through the Karma Kids Yoga and Art class at the Arts Station on Friday.

4. Summer Markets
The Wednesday and Sunday Summer Socials continue for the second week. The Wednesday night concert series features the band Relief Committee from 6:30 – 8:30pm with refreshment gardens from 5:30 – 9:00pm. Sunday, enjoy an afternoon out in the sun browsing local arts and crafts for sale downtown. Baynes Lake Farmers’ Market offers the freshest local produce every Saturday morning.

5. Lost Boys Lung Buster
A race not for the faint of heart, hardy hill climber race 2,100 feet – up! The race starts at the Fernie Alpine Resort base and ends at Lost Boys Café at the top of Timber Chair. The race is open to bikers and runners alike. Still looking for an adrenaline rush but not so extreme? Fernie Alpine Resort is offering locals a 50% discount until Friday for the aerial park.
