Fernie Water Restrictions are being introduced by the City of Fernie due to high demand on the municipal water system.
The Stage 2 water restrictions take effect Wednesday, July 22 at 2 p.m. and limit when residents may water lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers.
Residents may obtain a permit from Fernie City Hall for daily watering of newly planted seed, sod, trees and other plants.
The City says conserving water is essential to protecting the municipal water system, maintaining access to clean drinking water and ensuring sufficient water flows are available for firefighting.
