1) Lease Agreements
Council authorized their intention to dispose of portions of various City properties via Lease Agreements with the Fernie Skating Club, Fernie Curling Club and the Fernie Ghostriders Junior Hockey Club. The Agreements will come back for Council’s consideration after requisite notice has been completed.
2) Arena Liquor License
Council approved the Arena Liquor License Agreement authorizing the Fernie Ghostriders Junior Hockey Club to dispense and sell beer and wine from a specified location within the Fernie Memorial Arena in accordance with a Class E Stadium Liquor License.
3) Max Turyk Soccer Field Development
Council approved the grant application for the Max Turyk Soccer Fields to the Province of BC Community Recreation Program.
The redevelopment of Max Turyk Soccer Fields is identified in the City’s 2011-2015 Financial Plan. The project includes realigning the current field to allow for a second field to be developed at the same location. If successful with the grant application, the Community Recreation Program will contribute up to 80% of the project cost.
