Regional District of East Kootenay Electoral Area A Director Mike Sosnowski recently presented Conservation Officer Patricia Burley with a limited-edition print by local artist Sam Millard in recognition of Officer Burley’s extraordinary dedication and service to the RDEK Access Guardian Program.

Officer Burley has been the face of the Access Guardian Program since its inception. In making the presentation, Director Sosnowski noted that the moose symbolizes strength, solidarity and togetherness – all traits that Officer Burley brings to the Program and that have contributed to its success.

The RDEK and the Conservation Officer (CO) Service created the Area A program known as the Access Management Compliance and Enforcement Program (AMCEP). “Through this agreement with the CO Service, Officer Burley spends six months of the year dedicated to her Access Guardian duties,” commented Electoral Area A Director Mike Sosnowski. “Officer Burley talks to people in the backcountry, meets with stakeholder groups and organizations, and is a tremendous asset – she has make this program a success.”
