The Fernie Pride Society supports and connects the LGBTQ2+ community in the Elk Valley and seeks to ensure a safe and inclusive region that celebrates the uniqueness and diversity of its residents and visitors. This volunteer-based organization works hard to provide social events, workshops, outreach, community engagement, advocacy, resources and referrals for LGBTQ2+ people of all ages and allies.

To kick off a new year of pride in the Elk Valley, we are hosting our AGM on Monday, March 9 at 6:30pm at the Park Place Lodge. Fernie Pride Society memberships will also be available for purchase at a cost of $10/year or $20/3-year. We invite everyone to attend and celebrate our successes and help us plan for the future of Fernie Pride.

Prior to the AGM though, Fernie Pride will again have a colourful presence in the Griz Days Parade. We are so excited to celebrate Griz Days and have a tie-dyed, One Love themed float to express the parade theme of “Light Up the Night”. We would love to have you be a part of the fun and walk with Pride during the parade. Interested? Feel free to join in on Saturday, March 7 at 6pm by looking for the Fernie Pride float, grabbing a shirt or flag, and dancing your way down 2nd Avenue from 6:30pm on.

Fernie Pride exists thanks to the hard work and passion of the people and businesses of the Elk Valley.
