Join Wildsight in Fernie for Trouble in the Headwaters — an evening that blends storytelling, science, and community conversation to explore the growing connection between clearcut logging and the increasing frequency of floods, landslides, and droughts across British Columbia.

The evening will feature a screening of Trouble in the Headwaters, a 25-minute documentary by Daniel J. Pierce, which investigates the disastrous 2018 flood in Grand Forks, BC, and features UBC Professor Dr. Younes Alila. Both Daniel and Dr. Alila will be in attendance to introduce the film and join a panel discussion with local experts and Wildsight’s forestry team following the screening.

You’ll gain insight into what’s happening in your local watershed — and learn about practical steps we can take to better protect our forests and communities.
