Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Jeffery Straker will be coming to Fernie to play The Arts Station.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Jeffery often draws comparisons to a young Billy Joel or Elton John, and has drawn his own personal inspiration from Joni Mitchell. His various influences have really come to light on his new record “Dirt Road Confessional” which was released this May. It’s a 12 song epic folk/pop album which features the likes of Royal Wood, and Daniel Ledwell. It was produced in 5 different studios with a myriad of producers at the helm…which is no surprise – ’cause Jeffery is always on the move. He plays (on average) over a 100 shows a year worldwide and has just returned from touring 2 weeks of shows in Europe including recording live with BBC Radio for broadcast in the UK.

And his new album recently became a ballet/contemporary dance piece commissioned by a ballet company in Western Canada. The piece called “Heart’s Desire” will premiere in Regina SK at the Riddell Theatre, University of Regina, Nov 17 & 18.
