It’s a Special Wednesday at the Library as they celebrate Local Government Awareness Week with a Get to Know your Mayor and Council day of activities!

During the day the library will host family fun in the Library Garden. In the evening they welcome teens and adults to join Mayor and Council in a Mini Municipal Olympics.

2pm – 5 pm: Special story walk that starts at City Hall and journeys to the Library Community Garden
3:30 – 4:30 pm: Crafts and activities

Everyone is welcome. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
The library will close at 5:30pm to prepare for the evening’s festivities.

At 6:30pm join your Mayor, Council, friends and neighbours for a fun evening of socializing, games, snacks and refreshments, in the “community living room” at the Fernie Heritage Library.
Challenge friends, neighbours or Council members to a game of chess, laugh out loud while passively watching episodes of Parks & Rec, and enjoy snacks and refreshments.
Don’t miss the Mini Municipal Olympics! It’s Fernie Council vs the Fernie Rangers and Pathfinders Unit as they square off in a trio of events from paper airplane competitions to book stilt cart races.
