Wayne Norton—known here for his work on local history—is coming out with a new book on the history of the Fernie region called “Beneath the Coal Dust”.

The Fernie Museum is hosting the official book launch on October 8th.

11 AM: Historical walking tour showcasing places from Beneath the Coal Dust. Hosted by Lindsay Vallance. Meet at the Fernie Museum.

12 Noon: Hunter’s Bakery Luncheon at Fernie Seniors Drop-In Centre, 562 3rd Ave. Hosted by the Fernie Museum and the Hunter Family. Enjoy rotisserie roast beef on bun with homemade soup, and homemade dessert with tea and coffee. The luncheon will be followed by a presentation by Wayne Norton

Tickets for the luncheon and walking tour package are $15 (Sparwood Museum/Fernie Museum members) and $15 (non-members).
