In past years people took them to the old dump where they were piled and burned. I’m sure the new transfer station will take your tree.

I sure like the lifts being empty on weekdays. A drop in the price of oil would also improve the skiing!

“Mr. Chabot has been relieved of his duties in accordance with the terms of his contract and the Community Charter,” said Mary Giuliano, mayor of Fernie. “Council has decided to go into a different direction and philosophy.”

What would the new direction and philosophy be?

I expect uncontrolled development with any anyone that comes to town with a promise. The builders and realtors are ready to go!!

The teachers’ union doesn’t live in the real world. Some of the items on their laundry list of demands include 26 weeks of paid compassionate leave and two weeks paid leave for the death of ‘any friend.’

Talk about excessive demands. In no other profession would it be considered reasonable to take 26 paid weeks off to care for anyone. What makes teachers so special?

Sure, teachers play an important role in society, but so do many other professions. The reality is that lots of people want to be teachers, way more than there are available jobs.

Teaching is already a good gig, yet the unions want even more benefits and perks despite the fact that there are tons of bright, eager teacher college grads out there who’d take the job without those 26 weeks of paid compassionate leave. The unions want more benefits, but oppose anything that would measure teacher performance.

In most jobs, if you want a raise or more benefits, you earn it.

Teachers unions may have a strong negotiating power, but they have a weak negotiating position.

64% of BC residents do not approve of the strike. We see the greed and selfishness of the union. Down with the union!!
