Yes we could really use a vet here. Fernie has a huge pet population, and many owners who really care about the health of their pets.
mtnratParticipantThey killed your dog! An eye for an eye… BTW don’t post up on the forum if you don’t want comments. Both for and against. If you know where they live and can ascertain ownership, The first step is go to the City and RCMP. Seems you have a lot of patience. I would possibly be in jail by now. Good luck with the issue. If I had dogs like that I would put them down.
mtnratParticipantHow about a description of the dogs as well as an account of the bad things they have done. IE, aggressive behavior, getting into garbage etc.

As for the contraction of skiing being helped by the corporate buyout of the industry from what was many previously smaller corps or family/community run hill, I think they have a point.
mtnratParticipantGood Luck. When are you going to play the Brick? It would be super.

mtnratParticipantWhat happened to good old blotter paper?
mtnratParticipantThe Ghostriders hockey club sells split and delivered firewood in the fall. Best place for info would be Fernie Auto Parts.
June 30, 2010 at 11:32 pm in reply to: why is RCR trying to take 7% before the HST even exists?? #18259mtnratParticipantDistributed evenly? What the… It should be distributed by how much you paid in. Sounds like some kind of wealth redistribution scheme to me.
mtnratParticipantI am looking forward to the opening. Any date yet? Who is Midge? Ah, I think That Is part of the mystery.

mtnratParticipantCanadian Tire is one of the best things to happen here. It keeps many people in town for shopping, attracts others from neighbouring areas and has created quit a bit of work for locals.
As for the quality, each person gets to decide what to and what not to purchase. It is up to the individual to figure out if the price is good or not. A business has the right to make the price what ever they want, and the consumer has the right to decide if the price is good.
I may not go there for months, but when I need something on a sunday they have quite a selection of stuff from kids wetsuits, to skates, to tools, etc.
As for the quality, they are no snap-on, but I have built engines, replaced transmissions and lots of other general wrenching, with no real complaints for what I paid. I will tell you when those socket/wrench sets in the large case go on sale for $99, it is one of the best kits for a boat , RV, and home. I had a huge grinding project and went through seven grinders, the first three being porter cable, bosch, and dewalt, the last four being the $19.99 crappy tire specials and they had the same life as the more expensive ones in the abrasive dust environment they were used, in fact one of them just about wouldn’t die.
Bottom line, wait for the sales, buy only what you need or would have to go out of town for, and quit complaining about a problem that is so small as to make it a joke to even have thought about it.mtnratParticipantedwin wrote :

mtnratParticipantThe more I look into this the more I find that the petitioners are fear mongering. I do not agree with the way the HST was rolled out by the Provincial Government. It was cowardly. That does not change the fact that It will be good for the economy. If it is carried through I will be able to hire one and maybe two full time employees in the $25 to $35 per hour range and I only have a small company of 5 employees. The HST makes that much difference to my small company. There are some things that will cost more, but the big picture of the economics of the province need to be taken into account, rather than dwell on the minutia.
