I think they have something posted on the board at the gym.
kwishParticipantWest Fernie is an off leash area for dogs. People who buy places or rent in West Fernie know of this and are happy to move there with their dogs, as a so called "dog friendly" area. I have many friends who move there because it is an off leash area. It is sad though that people with mean dogs don’t control them. But off leash is the nature of the area.
West Fernie is not regulated by the City of Fernie bylaws or bylaw enforcement. If you are having problems with a dog in particular, please note that West Fernie is under the RDEK’s jurisidction. Or call SPCA (also in Cranbrook area). You may also want to phone the RDEK to check out their bylaws, but I am pretty sure they don’t have anything for dogs.
Good luck.
kwishParticipantRecycling for Annex is today…Jan 9. Not sure about Airport. The City has brochures to pick up within City Hall with the 2009 dates.
kwishParticipantyes, someone should take an avi course.
December 31, 2008 at 5:32 pm in reply to: Dear Cindy Corrigan: "I’m so sorry" is much more appropriate #16699kwishParticipantThe truth at this point may be obvious, but it does not need to be stated. We live in this valley, these are our winter sports, we all know the risks, but we live here for a reason. I myself had a few friends in avalanches last year, this is where we live, this happens, but it does not mean we shouldn’t show compassion. The whole Elk Valley is at loss due to this horrible event. This sends down a ripple effect to the families, their loved ones, the mines where the majority of them worked. Everyone I’m sure either knows these men personally or knows someone who does. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families.

kwishParticipantLegendary Lies….I hope you now understand that safety in the mountains comes first. You should be happy that someone is looking after your well being out there and should not be crying because limited runs are open. Just think of those poor families who are suffering right now. I don’t think you want to put your own family thru such pain.
kwishParticipantto fernie_beer_fan: So far PM has not been working….and I’ve tried a few different people. When you use PM, the site states that the user added does not exist. Hope that helps.
kwishParticipantPM is not working. You can contact me at kwishlow@yahoo.com and I can then direct to a website.
kristenkwishParticipantTelus works well in town, and up on ski hill. Even on way to cranbrook and calgary…there are a couple small sections where it will cut out….but even last time I went thru Elko I didn’t lose my call!
kwishParticipantTalking to a guy who’s been in Fernie for the past 30 years….according to him, locals don’t pay those prices! Locals haven’t skiied here since Heiko sold the hill….2 owners ago! Good luck finding lessons. Maybe you’ll find someone privately.
kwishParticipantI heard that too and laughed. Did anyone ever hear about a Saskatchewan major who pulled a similar thing….everyone who was to come see him had to be wearing a tie or dressed appropriately?! The kicker, the mayor also owned a local men’s suit / clothing store. It was all over the news all over the country! It was such a riot!
kwishParticipantSorry the room has been rented.
kwishParticipantyes, far too slim of pickings!
