http://www.clearwest.ca/wireless-news/story.asp?id=2764 also found this link that says Telus has already installed one tower in the south country. They quote they are spending $600 million on new infrastructure, I read else ware that Bell is matching them on this figure. As I stated earlier, Telus and Bell share a lot of there infrastructure.
As it is local between Cranbrook and Elkford, where I make the majority of my calls, I am on Solo’s old unlimited incoming with 400 min for $35.00 Solo’s equivalent to your plan would cost $70.00 for unlimited local and national.
garbyParticipantI remember reading about the tower last year, but my memory fails me. A quick search sent me here http://server2.cintek.com/scripts/ekrad … ting=16963 which tells me Telus /Bell are planning the extended coverage in the South Country.

garbyParticipantwell Savage I think that you will get a thousand different opinions on the service question, but as for towers there are only two services available. Rogers GSM service and Bell/Telus with there cdma hspa service. Bell and Telus share there towers. http://www.telusmobility.com/en/AB/cdma … maps.shtml and http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wirel … _-coverage You will see Telus and Bell have fuller coverage in southern Alberta and BC. Experience has told me the same thing.
As for service I chose Solo Mobile who is owned by Bell. Lowest prices for the simple use I wanted, cheap phones, and no contract. I did a fair bit of research before I chose my carrier about four years ago, and again last month when I considered switching for a better phone. I have been very happy with Solo’s reliability. Only thing I could wish for is American plan pricing.
garbyParticipantyou are correct. Solo, Virgin, Telus, Bell, Chatr and Koodo all use the same towers and have the same reception in Elkford. Worry more about the quality of phone you choose!
garbyParticipantThis is a surprisingly fast computer for it´s age. Perfect for facebook, pogo, email, browsing the web, skype, msn, transfering cd´s to mp3´s, limewire, and more. Never worry about a virus. Doesn´t slow down from normal use.

garbyParticipantThank you everyone for your posts, and please keep them coming. I notice the thread has been viewed by a lot more people than have posted so I ask again please post. I don´t want to offend anyone so if you have only positive to say about Extra Foods please post that information as well. Bad word of mouth always seems to travel faster than good, and I want to be more than fair here.
I have to agree with Chippy about the prices, after all that is why we all began to shop at Extra, however after spending more time at OverPricey I believe you have to be an alert shopper and OverW prices on SOME items are lower.
My biggest argument has been the lack of customer service (with exceptions); not enough tills open, the lack of baggers to help move the lines through, the empty shelves, ROTTING PRODUCE, green meat with 4 save a dollar stickers, sales that seem to end at the till…….did I mention the lack of baggers?
I have recently returned to shopping at Overwaitea after a long absence, and I was pleasantly surprised. The store is clean, uncrowded, and the tellers have all been friendly and helpful. I am willing to pay a little extra money to leave the store in the same mood or better than when I walked in.
garbyParticipantI have a trendnet wireless g pci card if your interested. Should be worth $20.00
Phone 250-433-1247 it? a Sparwood number but I am in Fernie.

Give me a call and I will gather up a box for you to pick up.

garbyParticipantI am aware prices are going up, they are going up everywhere. My point is we pay for our groceries and for the service, not for them to stand around and watch you bag your own.
Last week I was in to pick up some fresh produce for a salad, I was so disgusted by what they were offering I left my basket on the produce stand and walked out. Half the food was rotten on the stand.
There is never enough tills open to serve people. I know the store is looking for people, but this is not a new problem.
Everyone was happy when Extra foods first came to Fernie. Low prices, Good Service. Great products! I think they have gone down hill, and I now frequent OverPricey more than I have in years.
garbyParticipantbump!
garbyParticipantyes it is loose and ready to go.
garbyParticipantAprox 80 Gallon tank not lbs, this is an automotive tank for the back of a truck.
