How big does this town have to get before we see a tattoo shop, 24 hour grocery store, massage parlor, escort service, and shoe repair shop?

    Get a grip!

boo hoo, Im sure they’ll tear down the canadian tire now that someone has presented a negative opinion towards it.

Big change takes time. Unless Your Oprah.

Heavens Gate, was the woreship group back in 96 I beleive.
A group of people around twenty or so drank barbesol – (The stuff barbers use to disinfect their combs.) Sadly. The heavens Gate cult died after drinking the barbesol, but they all thought that they were on their way to live on a spaceship. hidden in the sky near California.

Thats about all I know. LOL.
    Happy halloween.

Real tv was better based on the lives of The Muppets and Webster, and Punky Brewster.
It surprises me to see what some people will consume as entertainment.

What we seem to hae here….. is a failure to progress, smartley (imo)

We are not taking control and smartley using what promotional outlets we hae.

Ps. (my / button aint werkin eh.)

No offence to the person in charge at the lcal cable company in example, but who in their right mind wants to turn on the tube and watch some old bat sippin tea and talking to people.

What? Does she thinks she’s the next Oprah?
I hae seldomly seen any outside Fernie Footage on channel 10 , but someones apparently not thought of this yet

We also hae the problem of too many non /erbal people.

Look what happened with the Mogul Smoker….. People should learn to work together and not be thinkin bout profit margins or staff costs.

I say that if a Destination Marketin Organization – (Group which makes no real sence imo) should be funded by an outfit such as Columbia Basin or work under the umbrella of the Chamber of Commerce.

Sadly – We are all taking the wrong aproach to Marketing our town and are creating our own problems.

Why doesnt each Bar in town take turns hosting industry night? Probably because we don’t pay our hospitality people enough to comfortably li/e , how can we expect them to enjoy the scene on time off.

    – I would also like to add that I would like to see a one way street placed from the corner of 7th and nineth to the corner of 7th and 7th.
No offence to any of the three fly fishing outfits on the stretch, but congestion and mornin coffee at jamochas is no combination I can swallow easy. All woried about my Jag parked out front with all the gonna catch a trout testosterone in the air.

The answer to all your griefs can be found. sadly I only hae time to end global warming and turbidity today.

    Shop, shop, shop.

    Souveniers? –
    Art –
    books –
    Clothing –
    Music –
    Cappaccino –

Sure Fernie is still a city in the growth stages, but all of the above can be found in town, with a quick stroll along second ave.

There are specialty food shops, for health food, or vegetarian influenced menus as well. No trip downtown would be complete without a visit to the Chocolate factory, I might add.

As far as malls go….. Not yet. But most visitors can find what they are looking for, by touring second ave, or by inquiring at local Fernie Museum, or the Chamber of Commerce.

Please plan to buy some local art at the Art co-op, our local artists appreciate the acknowledgement. There are not any stores to buy say PC games or pets, yet IGS has a good variety of everything from board games, to cordless headsets.

Hope you enjoy your visit, and find everything you are looking forward to finding. 8)

Speaking of the Brickhouse, So far great reviews from friends. I am excited and happy to hear people sayin, “It’s my new favorite.”

I personally havent been yet, but plans next weekend are Defenitely scheduled around the newest licenced establishment. I am currently listening to some Cat Stevens. Any requests?

Fernie is not just a town anymore, as valleygirl has been perceptive enough to address. Fernie is an overall attitude, of outgoingness and empathy. IE. If it was my vehicle stuck, would someone not help me. I am always happy to read good news and views in the Fernie forums. Thanks for makin my Saturday Valleygirl. I missed out on cartoons this morn, but such a great example of locals helping others out is what keeps are small town a small town, and me smiling alike.

Oh baby baby its a wild world. Its hard to get by with upon a smile……
But if you want to leave, take good care. I hope you meet alot of nice friends out there. Just remember theres alot of bad everywhere…..

We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun. But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time……….
We had joy we had fun we had seaons in the sun. But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone…..

    Great thread all.

Heres a challenge fer yas : Both sides of the “non for profit” “Mogul Smoker” event start planning now, with technologies assistance to try and pool together some entertainment etc. for next years event.

I think profits from such should go towards more local organizations, but I’m sure if we all pool resources now, 300 hrs of organizing, can seem like one short season of adapting.

Im sure there are many people in the area that would love to contribute to this event. If we take our time and work together with the right attitude, maybe opprah will come down and buy us all gin and juice.

Well gtg to church of the universe eh. Smokin one fer the griz right now.

Glad to hear you weren’t offended man.
Even more happy to hear some possitive input from another local.

Maybe a few of us local single males should start a male escort service eh.
Not nessessarily for sex, but how many other local and visiting women, might prefer the comfort of a guy to go to the show, or games with eh?

I’ll meditate on it, and get back to yas later eh.
lol and smiling almost all the time.

Learning how to live love and learn, just like everyone else.

PS. started some garden plants indoors this week. I might have some extra crimson velvet sunflowers available at the rate they’re goin. Anyone looking to not uproot for the summer season send a request and Ill see What I can do.
    Peace, and prosperity all.
