We need an objective truth on the internet that tells us what Fernie’s Nightlife is really like. You have beer I know and some bars, I love my apres ski like in St Anton and would love to hear that the bars have a similar vibe. I don’t need a nightclub but I don’t like a quite place either. So this post could be the informative resource on the nightlife in Fernie. I’m considering spending some time here on an instructor course.

Fernie’s known for powder and uncrowded slopes. Sure people party however it’s not St Anton.
Whistler is the place to be for nightlife.

Holy crap I didn’t read the "instructor course" part. At least you get a bus ride to the hill. Everyone else will be hitching. Which sounds like will be dramitically different this year. With a little spot set aside for pickup off the highway. People getting ticketed for stopping a vehilce on the highway.

hey landed, i’d have to agree with mikes assessment of fernie’s organised nightlife. add in a couple of ghostriders games and you’ve pretty much got it covered. if nightlife is THE deciding factor in your choice then you’re better off heading to whistler or banff, but then you end up with wetter snow (whistler), more rocks and ice (banff), and way more people on the runs (both). fernie offers an awesome hill that’s close to town, and a great annual average snowfall. the people are super friendly too. it’s important also to remember that fernie is way more than just a resort. sure there’s lots of people who live there for the skiing, riding, paddling etc, but there’s also loads of great people who hardly ever (or never) ski. i’m sure you’d have a great time there, even though it’s quieter than st anton (most places are). it all comes down to what’s important to you. and of course you’ll always find folks like snowsnake, but there’s plenty of them in austria too. he’d probably fit in well there.
