ParticipantWalking home from New Years celebrations, 3 friends were violently assaulted outside their home on 2nd Ave near the elementary school. A silver 4 door car pulled up, 2 men got out and jumped the friends for apparently no reason other than fun. One friend has had his face stitched up, another has a fractured jaw and the other was knocked out and has absolutely no memory of the incident.
Did anyone see this or does anyone know ANYTHING about it. This is not the sort of thing we want to let happen in our town.

Participantaround these neck of the woods, the Red necks get restless and hostile towards visitors even themselves. When I first came to town I can remember some Locals harrassin’ on some Quebecers, so, a friend and I broke it up and got them seperated. Its all bullshit and sorry to hear booot yer friend, hope you enjoy the rest of yer visit.

ParticipantSounds typical… was it on the corner of 13th st. and 2nd ave? Just outside of Little Italy,eh. Have those awesome Fernie cops investigate the matter, I’m pretty sure they will come up with some leads :p
As an old local to Fernie, sometime the “outsiders” (hate to use that term) but the Fernie mentally is if they feel threatened by them, they usually do something stupid. Not speaking about all Fernieiets here, but if an aussie or a foreigner has pissed them off somewhere along the way, they usually take it out on any foreigner that they see or comes their way. Good luck finding the Jerk(s) who did this.
