If you want to shop go to new york city, unless you are shopping for skis or outdoor gear….!!!!!

What sort of shopping do you have in mind?
You can outfit yourself with all the provisions and staples that you might need for life and leisure at local stores, and there are full-scale grocery stores.
For furs, fashion and jewelry you might find limited stock.

Cappaccino –Sure Fernie is still a city in the growth stages, but all of the above can be found in town, with a quick stroll along second ave.
There are specialty food shops, for health food, or vegetarian influenced menus as well. No trip downtown would be complete without a visit to the Chocolate factory, I might add.
As far as malls go….. Not yet. But most visitors can find what they are looking for, by touring second ave, or by inquiring at local Fernie Museum, or the Chamber of Commerce.
Please plan to buy some local art at the Art co-op, our local artists appreciate the acknowledgement. There are not any stores to buy say PC games or pets, yet IGS has a good variety of everything from board games, to cordless headsets.
Hope you enjoy your visit, and find everything you are looking forward to finding.

Carosella, Bunches, and Ghostrider Trading are all great local places to buy jewelry, kitchen ware, candle holders, picture frames etc. They are all situated along Victoria Avenue (2nd Ave, Main Street). Polar Peak Book Store is also on this street and offers a great selection of books as well as cards, journals and the like. Board Stiff, The Guides Hut, Straight Line and The Ski Base are all on or near 2nd ave and offer a huge selection of sporting goods and apparal. Ghostrider Trading, Hempire, Odyssey and Valley Family Footwear on 2nd Ave all offer apparell and foot wear.
I would say for a small town that Fernie has some good shopping options!
