The Wapiti Music Festival Society is cancelling the 10th Anniversary Wapiti Music Festival scheduled for August 7th and 8th in Fernie, BC. Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and in light of the statements of the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry regarding not lifting the order against mass gatherings, the society has concluded that for the safety of all involved cancellation is necessary.

The disruption and isolation of this pandemic highlight the importance of caring for the health and safety of all the people Wapiti touches – volunteers, musicians, artists, vendors, sponsors, attendees and supporters.

With that care top of mind, the society made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Festival.

“We are hugely disappointed that we won’t be celebrating our tenth year in person, with everyone, in the Annex Park, but it has become apparent that festivals and events like Wapiti just cannot be held this summer,” said organizer and Society Director Kevin McIsaac.

Further information about the cancellation and information about refunds for pass holders may be found on the website: wapitimusicfestival.com.

Wapiti Music Festival is a two-day music festival in beautiful Fernie BC. The festival is organized by the non-profit Wapiti Music Festival Society, runs each August, and features new and established Canadian performers in a stunning outdoor setting.
