Calling all Elk Valley residents! Columbia Basin Trust will be hosting its annual general meeting and community barbeque in Fernie on September 21. Both events are open to the public.

“Each year the Trust hosts its AGM and community BBQ in a different community around the Basin, and this year we’re excited to be in Fernie,” said Johnny Strilaeff, the Trust’s President and CEO. “The AGM is an opportunity for folks to learn about the Trust’s performance over the past year and the community BBQ is a chance for families to join us for some wonderful locally-sourced food and music. Our staff and board look forward to connecting with residents.”

Would you like to learn more about the Trust’s activities? Take part in the AGM from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Best Western Fernie Mountain Lodge. The meeting will focus on the presentation of the Trust’s 2017/18 Annual Service Plan Report and is an opportunity to ask questions and meet the Trust’s Board of Directors. Copies of the report will be made available at the meeting, or the report can be viewed online at ourtrust.org/annualreport.

Would you like to share in some local food and music? Following the AGM, join us for a free family barbecue starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Fernie Community Centre. The Bridge Bistro will be using locally-sourced food from around the Basin to create a memorable meal and the evening will feature live music by band RedGirl. Visit ourtrust.org/ferniebbq for details. We look forward to seeing everyone in Fernie!
