The Raging Elk Hostel and Kodiak Lounge have recently reopened their doors. For over 23 years The Raging Elk Hostel has been the base camp for travelers to either utilize top notch facilities while finding long term seasonal accommodation solutions or to enjoy all what Fernie has to offer on a budget. What does hostelling look like during a pandemic? There is more space in shared dorms with 50% capacity and less. Strong sanitization and a reconfiguration of many of the facilities to allow for social distancing and the health and safety of guests and staff. Private rooms & family rooms with private baths are a popular choice, as well as pod rooms for groups of friends who wish to reserve a whole room of various bed configurations to themselves. Enjoy the benefits of traveling on a budget by reserving the kitchen area which is completely sanitized after each use. The Raging Elk motto is “spend a night not a fortune.”
Overseas travelers are welcome, but please note The Raging Elk establishment is not a suitable accommodation for quarantine requirements when you arrive into Canada.
The Kodiak Lounge is now on its 10-year anniversary! It is known as a place to converse with ski locals and tourists in a cool environment that is friendly and welcoming. The Kodiak Lounge is proud to serve legendary Nelson Organic ales and classic Fernie Brewing co beers on tap at Fernie’s most economical price. The staff are 100% committed to keeping their customers who are travelling through the Kootenays safe. All staff wear signature Raging Elk masks while on shift and strongly adhere to all the regulations required by bars during Covid times, including complimentary hand sanitizer all over the place & distanced seating. You can book your pool table time with the bar tender to allow for complete sanitization in between games. The Kodiak Lounge is open to reservations of the entire bar for you and your personal or business pod.
