Scott Shipley of S2o Designs is pleased to announce the birth of their newest structure in NZ, born on 11-29-2012.
S2o Design is the world’s premier design and engineering company behind the world’s most successful whitewater parks and has been contracted to design and construct a whitewater park in Fernie. Four stages of design can be seen on this site.
The Fernie Whitewater park is moving forward despite challenges with funding and permitting. A recent application for tourism funding in Fernie found no support and the province’s Minister of Environment has produced negative statements that are off-the-cuff at best. In both scenarios there a lack of knowledge and understanding. To date there are no whitewater parks in BC, Fernie’s could be the first.
