The Fernie Home Energy Efficiency Workshop will provide homeowners with practical advice on improving comfort, reducing household energy use and completing affordable do-it-yourself upgrades.
The free, in-person workshop will be held Monday, September 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fernie Seniors Centre.
Columbia Basin Trust and the Community Energy Association are presenting the workshop as part of a series of 25 sessions taking place in communities throughout the Columbia Basin from September 8 to October 22.
The workshop will explain how energy is commonly lost from homes and identify simple changes that can make living spaces warmer, more comfortable and more efficient.
Participants will learn about:
• Everyday habits that can reduce energy use.
• Low-cost DIY home improvements.
• Practical upgrades that can produce noticeable results.
• Rebates and resources for larger renovation projects.
• Follow-up support available through partner programs.
The session will include live demonstrations, take-home materials and guidance from energy-efficiency experts.
“Residents have told us they’re looking for practical information about improving home comfort and energy efficiency, but it can be difficult to know where to start,” said Ulli Mueller, senior manager of delivery of benefits with Columbia Basin Trust.
“Through this partnership with Community Energy Association, we’re bringing expert-led workshops to communities across the Basin so homeowners can understand their options and make informed decisions about future home improvements.”
The Fernie Home Energy Efficiency Workshop is free, but advance registration is recommended because space may be limited.
